HISTORY

Pathways For Living, Inc., was established on March 9, 2010 in the state of Maryland as a non-profit corporation and is guided by a volunteer board of directors. It is recognized as a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt corporation established to facilitate and provide community based services and programs. Our current initiatives are a focused and collaborative engagement supporting several community services programs that originated at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Rockville, Maryland

Under the leadership of its Pastor, Rev. Leon Grant, the Church established a number of community services related programs, including a homeless shelter for women with children, a daycare center and a housing program for moderate to low income families, among others. During 2010, it was determined these programs could be more effectively nurtured in an independent not-for-profit structure. Our goal is that over time, Pathways will assume full responsibility and management control of the shelter and daycare center and perform the property management function of the housing programs.

VISION

Our vision is to be an effective leader by working both independently and partnering with others to shape, promote and provide holistic initiatives and services that enrich the lives of individuals\families in our immediate and neighboring service communities.

WHO WE ARE

Pathways for Living is comprised of experienced volunteers, professionals and administrators with expertise in managing day-care facilities, homeless shelters, transitional homes, health initiatives, tutoring, mentoring youth and adults, and coordinating community-service volunteers. In addition to providing direct services, we committed to, at a future date, being available to consult and conduct training in these areas.
